This is the first video I made using my ‘brand’ new keyboard….I choose this particular song because I love it so much… the “part 2” to be exact… I love the original version too… but not as much as the part 2… cause it is more melodious and I don’t dig rapping so much… hehe…

I have been meaning to make a video of this song even before what happened in Egypt… but I kept pushing it back because I don’t have a good video editing software… Do you know how stupid windows live movie maker in windows 7 is?? Many features are gone compared to XP version..… I don’t understand how something so good got to be downgraded…. One would think a newer version supposedly be better right??... But no… the windows 7 version is so simplified.. I don’t think any decent movie can be made out of it…
Then this thing happened in Egypt… history was made by the Egyptians.. The biggest set of protests ever made by a nation.. (Am I exaggerating?? Hmm.. Not really)… the very first demonstration is the smallest.. It happened just a day after I finished my final exams… (Yes.. the very finals that determine either i graduate or not!) …and I was in the middle of the protest.. literally…

This first protest was in Tahrir square (obviously).. and it was on Policemen Day.. a public holiday dedicated for the police force....but ironically.. I don’t think any single policeman got to stay home to enjoy their holiday that day. .
Earlier that day.. I went for a meeting in the Malaysian embassy in Mohandeseen for students who have finished their study.. After that my friends and I went for coffee to celebrate our freedom from a very tiring 2-month long final exams (yes.. this is how finals is done in Egypt) ..... That is when we saw a large group of people walking and chanting on the road next to our coffee shop… We were told that they were walking towards Tahrir to join other protesters there.. My friend recorded the incident on video.. and yes.. the short clip you saw in the beginning of this tribute video is the one that he captured ..

After all the protesters were gone.. we took a cab to go back home. Home is very close to Tahrir (10- minute-walk distance).. Unfortunately.. (or rather fortunately) .. instead of taking another route to avoid the demonstration.. the cab took a wrong turn and we headed straight to the heart of the protest … the road were so congested with vehicles.. we decided to get out of the cab and check out the scene before walking back home..

There was a small stage in the middle of the main road of the square… where there are men, old ladies and young women taking turns leading the crowd below with chanting… I don’t quite get what they were saying.. as the area where we were (the sidewalk of the shops, which is separated from the main road by fences).. was a bit noisy with spectators talking to each other, taking pictures and videos …
Tahrir Square
More and more group of protestors from various part of the city were also arriving.. joining the already big crowd in the square.. They were only allowed to enter the square through one main road… Policemen were everywhere.. but they didn’t do anything towards the protestors…they just stood guard… forming human barricade blocking all alternative streets leading to tahrir…
As the police forces didn’t allow anyone (even innocent-looking foreigners like us) to go through any of the streets.. we had a very hard time finding our way back home…. We had to take a long way just to get home.. a supposedly 10-minute walk turned into almost a 60-minute walk… Finally around 4 in the afternoon.. i arrived home… safe and sound… and found out that the police had started using tear gas towards the protesters… I felt so lucky I took the long walk home..

Never in my mind have I thought that this thing that started as a small protest could turn into something so big…
akhirnya.. dapat jugak buat note lagu ni... banyak orang minta note recorder lagu ni... maaf la kalian... sebelum ni tidak berkesempatan nak tulis.. apa-apa pun... better late than never.. kan???
Yay.. i bought a new keyboard …….. actually bukan la baru sangat… second hand je… … I love it… lama dah teringin keyboard yang touch sensitive… coz all my previous keyboards aren’t touch sensitive… and this one sounds a lot better… plus the sustain paddle thrown in by the seller… walamak… best giler the sound… macam professional main la… cewah… pro ke??
Thanks so much to the person who sold me the keyboard… such a kind hearted guy.. first of all.. he sold it at a low price… throw in the keyboard stand… n also a sustain paddle… then he was willing to send it to my house… 47 km away from his place.... quite far…if u plus another 47 km… dah boleh solat jamak n qasar dah… musafir…. huhu… then I learned that on his way back from my house… he had a small accident.. now his car is being repaired in the workshop for some time… kesian…. I can’t help feeling a bit guilty.. T_T … but like people said… orang baik memang banyak dugaan… tuhan sayang… =)

A mother’s touch…
My mom is so happy about the keyboard too…she doesn’t play.. but she loves it as a furniture.. to bring the ‘nilai estetika’ of the house… haha…she even sacrificed one of her ‘tudung’ to be the cover of the keyboard… she specifically choose this one because it is see through… so that people can still see the keyboard underneath. And look at the seat too… classic right… that is actually a small table… but now it will serve its new purpose as the keyboard seat…. (mama~~~ mama….. macam2..)
And one more thing… as I am writing this… she called n requested a song from me…. Adui… your son is not a pro lah ma…. huhu… she has so many songs in her list already… T_T… terpaksa la memerah keringat cari lagu2 tuh n prektis… main pun jari asik terpeleot sana sini je camne??…. guess I have to learn and be a pro fast… haha.. bila la tuh agaknya… (once again… mama~~~ mama…. )
So… ada pun entry baru blog nih…. Kesian kat blog ni.. baru je start berlayar, dah karam dah… tapi atas sebab2 yang tidak boleh dielakkan… haha ye la tuh.. manusia mmg penuh dengan alasan…!! apa2 pun.. sebab musabab lama tak update akan diberitahu kemudian…
